Friday, September 4th, 2026:
Fresno St. Vs USC
Vegas: USC -21.5
College Football Game Picker: USC by 25.86
USC returns 17 starters in a year where Coach Lincoln Riley wants to come out firing and make a great impression for the playoff committee. USC QB Jaden Maiava is experienced (ranked 7th) and should be able to move the ball while picking apart the 38th ranked defensive backs of Fresno St. with his 5th ranked offensive line and 19th ranked receivers. USC also has the 9th ranked running back unit in the country. Fresno St. will try to run the ball against the 16th ranked defensive line and 38th ranked linebackers of USC. USC should be able to stack the box. Look for USC to cover the spread in this one.
Friday, September 4th, 2026:
Miami FL Vs Stanford
Vegas: Miami FL -23.5
College Football Game Picker: Miami FL by 33.84
Although Stanford will have a game under its belt, Miami has too much fire power here. The Stanford student body does not start back until September 22nd which takes some of the home field advantage away. Miami should be able to roll on offense with its 3rd ranked receivers and 4th ranked running backs bolstered by their 8th ranked QB and 39th ranked offensive line. The very mediocre offense of Stanford will struggle against the very stout and experienced Miami defense (5th ranked defensive backs and 6th ranked defensive line). Look for Miami to cover the spread in this one.
Saturday, September 5th, 2026:
Ohio Vs Nebraska
Vegas: Nebraska -23.5
College Football Game Picker: Nebraska by 28.34
Nebraska returns 16 starters and will be playing an Ohio team with a new coaching staff and only 5 starters returning. Nebraska should be able to air the ball out with its 21st ranked receivers and 22nd ranked offensive line. Meanwhile, Ohio will struggle to move the ball against an experienced defense ranking 15th in defensive backs and 24th in linebackers. Nebraska will want to get off to a fast start and will simply have too much firepower against Ohio. Look for Nebraska to cover the spread in this one.
Saturday, September 5th, 2026:
Oregon St. Vs Houston
Vegas: Houston -20.5
College Football Game Picker: Houston by 33.48
Houston is going to be sneaky good this year returning 19 starters. Every unit on Houston’s team, on both sides of the ball, is ranked in at least the top 40. Houston should be able to move the ball at will through the air with its 32nd ranked receivers, 38th ranked offensive line, and 23rd ranked QB going against the very average pass defense of Oregon St. Meanwhile, Oregon St. will struggle mightily to move the ball against the balanced and experienced defense of Nebraska. Look for Coach Matt Rhule’s team at Nebraska to be much improved this year while covering this spread.
Saturday, September 5th, 2026:
Clemson Vs LSU
Vegas: Over/Under 51.5
College Football Game Picker: Under
These two teams have stout defenses with all defensive units on both LSU and Clemson ranking in the top 15 in the country. Clemson has a new offensive coordinator and QB which will cause things to start slow against a veteran defense. Same with LSU’s new coaching staff and QB. Look for the defenses to be way ahead of the offenses in this early season matchup. Take the under in this one as 51.5 is way too high.
Sunday, September 6th, 2026:
Washington St. Vs Washington
Vegas: Washington -23.5
College Football Game Picker: Washington by 34.20
This is an early season in-state rivalry game between an up-and-coming Washington squad against a rebuilding Washington St. team. The Washington offense should be able to move the ball at will against a very mediocre Washington St. defense. Washington St. will struggle to move the ball against a very strong Washington defense (17th ranked defensive line, 20th ranked linebackers, and 23rd ranked defensive backs). Washington St. will be breaking in a new coaching staff on the road against an in-state rival. Not a good combination. Look for Washington St. to cover the spread in this one.
