Alabama or Ohio St?

Alabama would be slightly favored in a matchup between Ohio St and Alabama. If fact Alabama would be favored against Clemson, Georgia, and Oklahoma.The goal of the playoff committee has been stated over and over to get the four best teams into the playoff. This will be the year that may cause the playoff to expand to 8 teams including 5 major conference champions and 3 at large bids. The playoff committee is in a very tough situation. Do you take a one loss, non conference champion, Alabama team or a two loss (including a very bad 30 point loss to Iowa) Ohio St that won their conference? Ohio St got the magic ticket last year jumping conference champion Penn St only to get thrashed 31-0 by Clemson. Alabama came within an eyelash of beating Clemson in the championship game last year. The 30 point loss to a bad Iowa team will be the sticking point that will be hard to explain if the committee decides to reverse course from last year and take the two loss conference champion over the one loss team. We shall see a few short hours….
