The line here is low because Liberty has lost three games in a row. However, the three loses came to extremely good teams in Ole Miss, La. Lafayette, and Army. E. Michigan is a very average team that plays in an average conference. Liberty should have a big advantage with its balanced offense led by QB Malik Willis over the 112th rush defense and 75th ranked pass defense of E. Michigan. E. Michigan is a pass first team and will struggle against the 3rd ranked pass defense of Liberty. Look for Liberty to cover the spread in this one.
(Saturday, December 18th)– Marshall Vs La. Lafayette
Vegas La. Lafayette -5 College Football Game Picker La. Lafayette by 8.98
10-1 La. Lafayette won its 10th game in a row winning the Sun Belt Championship last weekend with a clutch win over Appalachian St. La. Lafayette has a strong pass defense (12th) that will be able to stop the pass first offense of Marshall. La. Lafayette should be able to really take advantage of the 108th ranked rush defense of Marshall with its 24th ranked rush offense. Although this will be a hard-fought game, look for the experienced La. Lafayette team to cover the spread in this one regardless of the coaching situation.
(Wednesday, December 22nd) – Missouri Vs Army
Vegas Army -3.5 College Football Game Picker Army by 9.79
Army matches up really well against Missouri in this game. The 2nd ranked rush offense of Army will be difficult to handle for the 120th ranked rush defense of Missouri. Army has the 12th ranked rush defense and should be able to slow down running game of Missouri. Missouri has been over valued all year by Vegas with a -5 against the spread average. Look for Army to cover the spread in this one.
(Tuesday, December 28th) – NC State Vs UCLA
Vegas NC State -1.5 College Football Game Picker NC State by 5.67
NC State has played well down the stretch using a smothering defense ranking 25th in rush defense and 48th in pass defense. NC State should be able to take advantage of UCLA’s glaring weakness (105th ranked pass defense) with its 19th ranked pass offense led by QB Devin Leary who had 4 TD passes in his last game against N. Carolina. Although this could be a tight game early, look for NC State to pull away and cover the spread in this one.
(Thursday, December 30th) – Purdue Vs Tennessee
Vegas Tennessee -7.5 College Football Game Picker Purdue by 3.47
Purdue has played well down the stretch winning 4 of its last 5 games. After getting boat raced by Georgia, Tennessee had a couple of yawners to end the regular season. Purdue will have a huge mismatch with its 8th ranked pass offense led by QB Aiden O’Connell going against the 106th ranked pass defense of Tennessee. If Tennessee gets behind early and has to go to the air, they will struggle against the 18th ranked pass defense of Purdue. Look for the veteran Purdue team to cover the spread in this one.
(Thursday, December 30th) – Pittsburgh Vs Michigan St.
Vegas Michigan St. -3.5 College Football Game Picker Pittsburgh by 7.96
Michigan St. has struggled in a big way against passing teams (Purdue, Ohio St., etc..). Pittsburgh has the 7th ranked passing offense going against the 130th ranked pass defense of Michigan St. Pittsburgh will be without QB Keeny Pickett who opted not to play in the bowl game. As a rule of thumb, missing one player can usually only mean a swing of about three points. Redshirt Junior QB Nick Patti will start for Pittsburgh and will get his chance to shine against the worst passing defense in the country. Michigan St. will be able to move the ball as well through the air, but won’t be able to keep up with the 11th ranked Pittsburgh Panthers who demolished Wake Forest in the ACC Championship last weekend 45-21. Look for Pittsburgh to cover the spread in this one.
