2019 College Football Week 8 Premium Picks Against the Spread

Week 8


(Thursday, October 17th) – La Lafayette Vs Arkansas St 

(Vegas  La Lafayette -6 )      (Game Picker La Lafayette by 14.21  )

La Lafayette matches up well against Arkansas St. La Lafayette will have a huge mismatch with it’s 10th ranked rushing offense going against the 111th ranked rush defense of Arkansas St. Arkansas St is a pass first team and struggles running the ball (110th rush offense). La Lafayette has the 18th best pass defense in the country. Look for La Lafayette to cover the spread in this one.


(Saturday, October 19th)Indiana Vs Maryland 

(Vegas  Indiana -3.5 )      (Game Picker Indiana by 4.2  )

Maryland has played well this year with the exception of one glaring weakness. Maryland’s pass defense is ranked 125th in the country. Indiana will be able to expose this weakness with it’s 31st ranked pass offense. Indiana has been surprisingly strong on defense ranking 44th in rush defense and 17th in pass defense. Look for Indiana to cover the spread in this one.


(Saturday, October 19th)TCU Vs Kansas St 

(Vegas  TCU -3 )      (Game Picker TCU  by 8.58  )

This game sets up really well for TCU as far as strengths and weaknesses. TCU will have a huge mismatch with it’s 9th ranked rush offense going against the 99th ranked rush defense of Kansas St. Kansas St is primarily a running team and will struggle against TCU’s 13th ranked rush defense.  Look for TCU to cover the spread in this one.



(Saturday, October 19th) – LSU Vs Mississippi St

(Vegas  LSU -17.5 )      (Game Picker LSU by 19.93  )

LSU has played a tougher schedule than Miss St but has an edge in every statistical category. These are two teams going in different directions. Miss St lost to a horrible Tennessee team this past week. LSU meanwhile took care of a really good Florida squad. LSU’s 2nd ranked pass offense should have no problem moving the ball against the 67th ranked pass defense of Miss St. Miss St has some injuries in their defensive backfield. LSU’s only “weakness” this year has been it’s 60th ranked pass defense. Miss St only ranks 107th in passing offense and won’t be able to expose LSU’s defensive backfield. Look for LSU to cover the spread in this one.


(Saturday, October 19th)N Carolina  Vs Virginia Tech

(Vegas  N Carolina  -3 )      (Game Picker N Carolina  by 17.64  )

North Carolina (19th ranked strength of schedule) has played a much more difficult schedule than VA Tech (98th ranked strength of schedule) but leads in every statistical category. North Carolina’s 43rd ranked pass offense will be able to move the ball on VA Tech’s 93rd ranked pass defense. North Carolina has been surprisingly strong on defense nearly pulling the upset on Clemson two weeks ago. VA Tech meanwhile has been very average on offense against weak opponents. Look for North Carolina to cover the spread in this one.


(Saturday, October 19th)Missouri  Vs Vanderbilt 

(Vegas  Missouri  -21 )      (Game Picker Missouri  by 28.29  )

This is the 19th ranked team versus the 102nd ranked team in the country. Vanderbilt lost to a very bad UNLV team last weekend while Missouri was beating a much improved Ole Miss team. Missouri has been extremely solid on both sides of the ball will be able to move the ball at will against Vanderbilt while shutting down Vanderbilt’s woeful offense with it’s 30th ranked rush defense and it’s 10th ranked pass defense. Look for Missouri to cover the spread in this one.
