(Friday, October 23rd ) – Illinois Vs Wisconsin

The Big 10 finally gets going this week with a full in conference slate. Wisconsin returns a loaded team that ranked in the top 10 preseason. Wisconsin should be able to move the ball efficiently on the ground against a young Illinois defense that only returned 5 starters on defense. The Wisconsin defense returns 9 starters on defense and will be one of the best in the country this year. Look for Wisconsin to cover the spread at home in this one.
(Saturday, October 24th ) – Southern Miss Vs Liberty
(Vegas Liberty -10.5 ) (Game Picker Liberty by 17.68 )
Liberty has been one of the surprise teams of the year behind Auburn transfer QB Malik Willis. The Liberty Flames have been incredible running the ball with the 5th best rushing stats in the country. Meanwhile, Southern Miss ranks 69th out of 77 teams in rush defense. This mismatch will allow Liberty to control the game along with its strong defense that ranks 19th against the run and 8th against the pass. Look for Liberty to cover the spread in this one.
(Saturday, October 24th ) – W. Virginia Vs Texas Tech
(Vegas W. Virginia -3 ) (Game Picker W. Virginia by 12.49 )
This is a good matchup for W. Virginia as it will be the 25th ranked team of W. Virginia versus the 50th ranked team of Texas Tech. W. Virginia has been lock down on defense ranking 12th against the run and 6th against the pass. Texas Tech is a pass first team and will struggle against the pass defense of W. Virginia. W. Virginia will be able to move the ball against the pedestrian defense of Texas Tech. Look for W. Virginia to cover the spread in this one.
(Saturday, October 24th ) – Utah St. Vs Boise St.
(Vegas Boise St. -14.5 ) (Game Picker Boise St. by 25.85 )
Boise St will return one of the best young QBs in the country in QB Hank Bachmeier. This team could go undefeated in the Mountain West with the returning talent at skilled positions. Boise St destroyed Utah St last year 56-21. Utah St. will be starting a first year QB against a much stronger Boise St defense. Look for Boise St. to cover the spread in this one.
Saturday, October 24th ) – Maryland Vs Northwestern
(Vegas Northwestern -10.5 ) (Game Picker Northwestern by 14.2 )
North western will return 19 starters and will be one of the most improved teams in the country. The defense of Northwestern will be sneaky strong maybe even one of the top 10 in the country. Maryland started out with a bang last year but then went 1-9 in the Big 10 averaging only 16 points per game in conference play. Maryland’s defense only returns 5 starters and will struggle against a veteran offensive squad of Northwestern. Look for Northwestern to cover the spread at home in this one.
(Saturday, October 24th ) – Air Force Vs San Jose St.
(Vegas Air Force -6.5 ) (Game Picker Air Force by 18.35 )
This will be an interesting matchup where it will be the running game of Air Force versus the passing game of San Jose St. Air Force rolled in its only game so far against Navy 40-7. This will be San Jose St’s first game of the season with an untested offensive line and QB against a solid Air Force defensive line. The experience of having practiced all season and having played a game will pay dividends for Air Force. Look for Air Force to cover the spread in this one.
