(Thursday, December 10th ) – Pittsburgh Vs Georgia Tech Winner!
(Vegas Pittsburgh -6.5 ) (Game Picker Pittsburgh by 13.44 )
This is one of those games where the strengths and weaknesses advantage for one team is glaring. Pittsburgh is a passing team with virtually no running game. This lack of balance won’t be a problem against GA Tech as the Yellow Jackets rank 116th in pass defense. Pittsburgh’s main weakness on defense this year has been its pass defense ranking 101st. GA Tech will be unable to take advantage of this weakness with its 94th ranked pass offense. Pittsburgh has played a much tougher schedule and is the much higher ranked team. Look for Pittsburgh to cover the spread in this one.
(Thursday, December 10th ) – Florida Atl. Vs Southern Miss
(Vegas Florida Atl. -8 ) (Game Picker Florida Atl. by 12.98 )
Florida Atl. is a running team with virtually no passing game. That was a problem last week against GA Southern’s strong rush defense. S. Mississippi ranks 103rd in rush defense and won’t be able to slow down Florida Atlantic’s 41st ranked rush offense. Florida Atlantic has a very strong defense (31st in rush defense and 11th in pass defense) that should be able to shut down S. Mississippi just as they have other weaker offenses this year. Look for Florida Atl. to cover the spread in this one.
(Friday, December 11th ) – Arizona St. Vs Arizona Winner!
(Vegas Arizona St. -8.5 ) (Game Picker Arizona St. by 11 )
This is a heated in-state rivalry that will be fun to watch in the 41st ranked Arizona versus the 83 ranked Arizona St. There is a glaring mismatch here with the 22nd ranked rush offense of Arizona versus the 129th ranked rush defense of Arizona. Arizona St. has played a much more difficult schedule to this point and that should pay dividends. Arizona is the much healthier team at this point as well. Look for Arizona St. to take advantage of the running game mismatch to cover the spread in this one.
(Saturday, December 12th ) – Navy Vs Army Winner!
(Vegas Army -5.5 ) (Game Picker Army by 13.16 )
This is the 120th edition of this matchup. Army being an independent has had a difficult time scheduling games but has this one has been marked on their schedule as they will get to host Navy at home instead of traveling to Philly this year. Army will have a tremendous mismatch with its 3rd ranked rush offense versus the 113th ranked rush defense of Navy. Navy is pretty much a rush only offense and will struggle moving the ball versus the 28th rush defense of Army. Look for Army to cover the spread in this one at home.
(Saturday, December 12th ) – LSU Vs Florida Winner!
(Vegas Florida -23.5 ) (Game Picker Florida by 15.7 )
LSU was exposed by Alabama this past weekend losing 55-14. Alabama’s defense has improved all year since the Ole Miss game and has quietly become sneaky good. LSU should have more success moving the ball with its 17th ranked pass offense versus the 81st ranked pass defense of Florida. Florida should be able to put up some points against LSU but will probably be looking to rest players after getting a lead with the SEC Championship looming next week. Look for LSU to cover the spread in this one.
(Saturday, December 12th ) – UNLV Vs Hawaii Winner!
(Vegas Hawaii -21 ) (Game Picker Hawaii by 13.83 )
Even though UNLV has been horrible this year, this is a game where UNLV actually matches up well with its opponent. Teams have run all over UNLV this year but the pass defense has ranked 55th for UNLV. Hawaii has always been a passing team and won’t be able to roll over UNLV with its running game (85th) like other teams have. Hawaii has not been able to stop any running teams this year ranking 121st in rush defense. UNLV should be able to move the ball on the ground against Hawaii. Look for UNLV to cover the spread in this one getting 21 points.
